Kogi PDP chieftain, Victor Alewo ADOJI has opined that the current economic crisis bedeviling the country can be

tackled if the sociological and psychological aspects which he deemed the root causes are uprooted.

The erudite banker turned politician and Economist of note was speaking.to Journalists at a recent function of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN)in Abuja.

Adoji, the PDP flagbearer for the Kogi East 2023 Senatorial Seat revealed that the country”s fixation on foreign goods should be jettisoned if the economy is to improve and foreign exchange kept within,”‘dealing with Nigeria’s problem as a largely economic one is a wrong solution, there is a sociological and psychological underlining to the whole issue so we must go to the very basic of identifying and defining the problems to which you can now put the super structure to tackle it and I will give a good example…you see, the fixation on foreign goods is not an economic problem but sociological and psychological.

The solution would be to tone down on our foreign goods consumption and what that automatically means is that foreign exchange is retained in Nigeria and that in effect will give a prune down effect on the current escalating rate of exchange so we need to change our mannerisms, mindset and our ways of doing things and we will begin to see the knock on effect on the economic solutions that we seek”, Adoji said.
