“ We are Africans, and it is possible to develop south-south cooperation that respects our realities. I am therefore ready to help Côte d’Ivoire which is preparing for CAN 2021 ”. These words were spoken in 2017 as Côte d’Ivoire was preparing to host CAN in 2021, which remains relevant for Ebi Egbe, FIFA expert of Nigerian origin.

4 years later, the slide gained ground and the 16-member CAN went to 24 nations, and Côte d’Ivoire inherited the 2023 edition of the African football festival, it is rather the Gambia who agreed to repatriate the boss of Monimichelle, the company specializing in lawn breaks, in order to establish adequate playing surfaces for athletes, footballers in particular.

“ This lawn is world-class… I am impressed and will invite the contractor who did the work ahead to The Gambia. I want to see this kind of work in my country. We want to have good pitches like this in all our regions and I think Monimichelle should come and help us , ”Tamba said.

Very criticized by the visiting teams, the lawn of the Independence stadium of Bakau should undergo a makeover in the coming weeks thanks to an African expertise, which proposes to provide Africa with a playing surface at the level of those responsible for CAF, which recently suspended 23 stadiums on the continent that did not meet the required standarExpertisertise that should put the ear to the Ivorian authorities who are planning the repair of certain lawns including that of the Olympic stadium of Ebimpé below the sculpture of the enclosure. Soludo Sneezes As Ifeanyi Ubah’s Guber Ambition Kicks off

Loathe him or like him, Ifeanyi Ubah, senator representing Anambra south has come to be the focal point today as far as Anambra Politics is concerned.

The controversial businessman who was not given any chance when he landed on the murky terrain of Anambra Politics hitherto characterized by aging horses ,came and drove them out in a manner which remains a mystery till this day.

Everywhere one turned in Anambra presently, there is the clamouring by both young and old for the businessman to throw his hat in the ring as quickly as possible,a call which Ubah respectfully heeded.

A few days back,Ubah kicked off his 2025 governorship bid.

Ubah contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election and polled fourth, in a contest won by Chukwuma Soludo, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

.However ,it appears the billionaire businessman is not settling for less as the race to unseat Soludo is a task that must be done .

It will be noteworthy to state the no love lost relationship between Ubah and Soludo since the last election, with the government in power flexing it’s muscle at the slightest opportunity against Ubah and whatever he stands for.The latest was on January 9,2024 when Soludo suspended Damian Ezeani, a traditional ruler of the Neni community, for conferring a chieftaincy title on Ubah “without obtaining the permission of the traditional ruler of the recipient’s community, or the ministry of local government, chieftaincy and community affairs”.

The governor reinstated the suspended monarch a few days later after pressure from the Obi of Onitsha and several outcries from far and near.

Speaking with journalists in Nnewi a few days ago, Ubah described the development as unacceptable, adding that “those who championed it did not know what they did. Thank God it has been reversed without apology to me”.

The senator said if elected governor in the forthcoming election, he would conduct an LGA election within four months, in order to encourage political participation and autonomy at the grassroots.

“All I ask for is one term of four years. I promise to conduct a local government area election within four months of the election,” he said.

“At the moment, I rate governance in Anambra for the past 18 years at 20 percent. I will bring 80 percent content that has never been discussed in governance.

“I have a burning desire to contest the next governorship election in Anambra because this government and those before it have not been able to put the state in the development trajectory that our people desire.

“We need to create support for our commerce, we have to develop our sector to make it a hub for health tourists and accelerate community development through local government elections.

“Voting for people with over-bloated personalities and structure has failed us.

“It is time we vote for people with passion, people with a track record. That is what I represent.

“I am prepared to change the narrative, and that is why my manifesto has remained the same from 2013 till date.”Ubah said.
