US-based Nigerian Seeks Divorce After Discovering Wife is Bisexual

The problem of LGBT rights among Africans reared its ugly head again recently in far away Maryland,USA.The case involves a Nigerian lady,

Kafayat Hazzan and her Nigerian born US husband,who reportedly found out she was bisexual.According to the story,Kafayat,s husband,who had long suspected her allegedly  caught her one day discussing intimately  with her lesbian partner. The eavesdropping husband, it was learnt,could not believe what he just found out about his wife especially being a Muslim whose faith vehemently preaches against same sex marriage or relationship.

As a result,Kafayat,s husband is said to be finalising plans to end their marriage.He is said to be presently talking to his lawyers. Of note is the odium and ridicule from friends and family she’s been subjected to following her husband’s sudden discovery.

Those close to Kafayat say she’s been downcast ever since the shocking find and all effort to let her man see reasons on her decision  has totally failed.She is reportedly   distraught at the ridicule from her family too.A source told us that she now stays indoor and a total shadow of her bubbly self.As a result, she has told a few friends that she’s tired of life and doesn’t exactly know what to do.She also told friends she doesn’t know where to go to save herself the embarrassment from her husband.

Hazzan risks a 14-year jail term if by chance she finds herself in Nigeria and the authorities get to know.Ever since the National Assembly promulgated the Law against Gay rights a few years back,practitioners of same sex relationship, if found out, have never escaped prosecution.
